Leah had never had a crepe before!  Tragic.   Luckily, we found this place at Union Market, where Doug and I had never been.  Good food and good fun!

I, at least, did not discover what we can learn from whale earwax.  I guess I missed that part. Really, I just liked the way the text wrapped around the corner.

At the National Zoo.  I think prairie dogs are super cute, though Leah wasn’t as charmed by them as we were.  Which is fair, because she was infatuated with the squirrels (that weren’t on exhibit, of course).

This is not the first picture (see link) I’ve posted of a robin in the birdbath.  But it makes me so happy when birds splash around in there, and robins in particular seem to really enjoy it.

The woodland phlox next to the house is putting on a beautiful show this year!

Our first real print of an actual useful object on our 3D printer at work.  Huzzah!   What is it, you ask?  Take a guess….

Goldfinches are such bright cheerful birds.

That’s a whole lot of noodles.  We were celebrating Star Wars Day (May the Fourth) at work, and these were on hand for lightsaber making.  I am amused because if we had said, let’s do a program where kids can make swords, everyone would have been horrified.  But it’s Star Wars and lightsabers, so it’s OK.

The cherry tree in our side yard has about faded, but this new one behind the garage is just starting to blossom.  Now if only spring would catch up….

The tree we planted last year is looking positively glorious this spring.  I look forward to future years as it grows and gives us an even better show
