We went over to East Chop to watch the sunrise this evening, but we were just late enough that we didn’t really see the best of it.  Still pretty clouds, though.

Our host was kind enough to leave us some gift cards to local restaurants.  We used all of them, including one for Back  Door Donuts because, let’s be serious…how could we not?

I was out working in the yard when I noticed this single bloom on the rose of sharon.  There will be more soon, but I liked the sight of just the one flower

After at least an hour of soaking all the keys in soapy water, vacuuming, very gentle scraping, and then putting all the keys back on, my keyboard is looking a whole lot better.

My keyboard, as you can see, was pretty disgusting.  looked even worse when we took the keys out.  But after some time with Q-tips and toothpicks and a vacuum cleaner, it looks much better.
I blame Gandalf.

Last weekend, Doug got out the power washer and we want after a few things with it, including our front door mat.  But it still had lint and cat hair stuck to it, so we brought it inside to vacuum. Before we had a chance to vacuum it, Ferrous had claimed it as his new favorite spot.  I kinda felt bad putting it back outside the door.

Most people know that I am not a winter person.  I don’t like being cold, or how short the days are, or that snowstorms can seriously mess up your plans.  One of the other things I like about summer, though,  are the yummy fruits that are in season.  Mmmmmm!

Every year on the Vineyard, Kat and I go and get pedicures together.  And every year, I don’t remove the polish, just to see how long it will last.  Last/this year, none of the polish actually chipped off; it all just grew out.  Here’s all that remains.

The hydrangeas in our yard are putting on quite a show so far this year.  This one is normally all bright pink, like you see in the back, but this year it is also giving us some gorgeous purple blooms.
(just realized this is the 7th time I’ve posted photos of a hydrangea, but they’re just so darn pretty.)
