Even given his orange color, this kitty is well hidden in the grass. If  you’re color-blind, it’s particularly difficult to spot him.

Bob, security guy at work, likes to post quotes, poems and trivia on the screen behind the security desk each day. Most mornings, when I enter the building, I’m likely to see a few people looking up at the screen, puzzling out the answer,

When we ordered bulbs last fall, they sent us a bonus package of mystery bulbs. We suspected they were tulips, but of course had no idea what they would look like. And now we know.

These dandelions found their way to the green roof on the 3rd floor. Enterprising little things, aren’t they?

In spite of the signs that are so bright they could possibly do you actual physical harm, I don’t think the pigeons read them.

I guess he’s not keeping Passover. He’s also not as bold as his cousin I photographed a couple of years ago; I couldn’t get very close.

After years of renting a tent for the clambake, we finally broke down and bought one. We set up today just to make sure a) we had all the parts b) we could do it, and c) to learn how long it would take.  We learned a few tricks, and we think we’ll be good to go on party day.

This is the top of the ball popper. You haul on a rope, which lifts a bowling ball. When it drops, it causes a tennis ball to launch out of a tube and straight into the air, where it goes through several hoops before falling back down into a net, which funnels it back into the tube.

This is how my day started at 9:00, and this is what it looked like at 5:00. Thank god for the beautiful weather.
