Definitely the most sought after accessory today.  I know a lot of people drove up to Vermont (today!  they’re crazy) to see it in totality, but here in eastern Mass. we’ve got a perfect bright day to watch the sun gradually get smaller.

Our friend Emmeline gave us a very cool gift for our anniversary:  a Lego building set.  It makes little Lego flowers.  Which is good, because our cats would eat regular flowers, so we can keep these without worry.

One of my favorite things about spring is watching all the plants and flowers come up.  I can never remember exactly what we planted where, and what it looks like.  So it’s like a surprise every year.

Spotted this tucked between the diabetes paraphernalia and the foot care stuff.  Maybe someone can explain to me which of those it’s meant to be part of and why?

There was a rally at City Hall today. The Newton Teachers Association (NTA) has been on strike for several days.  It’s illegal and they’re being fined, but in the meantime, negotiations are going nowhere.

My friend Susan gave be this bowl that she made, for a birthday present.  I use it nearly every day, as it is perfect for hot cereal.  It has come to be known as simply “The Susan Bowl.”

This is one of Ferrous’s favorite spots to watch the world go by. It’s on the porch.  Because we were on the porch today.  Because January.

I spotted the remains of a puddle on the sidewalk today.  To my eye, it looks exactly like someone’s silhouette (or at least the top part does).

Doug and I made some new candles from the lumps of wax left when candles die.  Usually, the waxes are different colors, and the candles wind up some version of preschool brown.  We threw a couple crayons in and got a very nice color.

As posted on Facebook, a hawk was successful in procuring some lunch this afternoon.  When we went out to see if he was still around, he was gone but his leftovers were still there, with a trail of rabbit fur leading up to it.  It didn’t look like the hawk had actually eaten much, but I didn’t really check that closely
