During tonight’s harbor cruise (that I attended as a work thing), we got a good look at the Amerigo Vespucci, an Italian training ship. She’s big. Mighty big.

As I walked to work this morning, this happy group of people was hard to miss. I stopped to ask what was going on. “Engagement!” I was told. “Oh! Who’s proposing to whom?” I asked. “Oh, no. They’re in the water [I assume she meant on a boat]. It’s a surprise. They don’t know we’re here.”
So….someone’s proposing and doesn’t know it? That IS a surprise. Ah well. Congratulations to all, anyway.

I had a pedicure today, but since it was cold, I put socks on when I got home. So when I got ready for bed and took my socks off, my blue toenails were a bit of a surprise.

I am trying to teach myself sign language using assorted online instruction. I don’t expect to become fluent, but I’d like to be able to ask and answer simple questions.

I wonder what the CSI gang would make of this mess on my kitchen floor…

I had a meeting at the Boston office of Lego Education today. Not surprisingly, there are bins of Legos in the lobby. The shiniest, sparkliest Legos I’ve ever seen. So shiny and sparkly that at first, from a distance, I didn’t recognize them.

Spent the morning outside, hanging out with kids and looking at the tiny creatures that live in the channel. One dad, who was fascinated by all of it, said “Are you getting paid to do this? That’s fantastic!” Yep. I don’t get paid much, but I am sometimes amazed at what I get paid to do.

The new Sullivans out front at work has a limited menu, for which I’m thankful. If they were making fried clams out there, I’d be in trouble.

A recreation of the last dinosaurs on earth, begging for help as the asteroid hurtled toward them.

Our neighbor recently had the property lines surveyed, and discovered the existing fence was a good 6 feet over the line. So she put in a new fence, giving us back that space. Unfortunately, a line of now-decrepit trees was along the old fence, so we had them torn out. Here they are being fed into the wood chipper…
