shopping with Mom

My mom is going to an 80s party in May, and she had to idea what to wear.  So I told her, “We need to get you to the Garment District in Cambridge.”  We went today, it was all pretty hilarious, and I promise I will post a picture of her in the getup she ultimately bought.  Stay tuned.

aliens

My neighbor’s lawn has this big scar on it.  The only possible explanation I can think of is that a flying saucer came to a landing in their front yard.  What else could it possibly be?

just in case

I guess I know where to go if my bunions get bad enough.

literary blind date

While I think this is a cute idea, and I’ve seen other libraries do it, I’m not sure I’d try it.   Of course, I guess there’s no big loss in checking one of these out.  If I don’t like it, I just don’t read it.

spring is coming!

There’s crocuses is the yard!  Huzzah!
(I know….I take photos of the crocuses almost every year.  Sue me.  I love spring!)

No.  It’s just Ferrous.

it looks cute

….but we know this kind of adorableness generally leads to a wrestling match.
(and yes, that is Doug’s leg that they are nesting in.)

Lopapeysa

If you want a traditionally made Icelandic sweater, you need to go to the Handknitters Association of Iceland. Anywhere else is selling cheap knockoffs.  The sweaters aren’t cheap, but they will last a lifetime.

Magma Hotel

In the tiny village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, we were originally booked in the Hotel Klauster (a more traditional hotel), but after a brief miscommunication with our tour planner, we opted instead for the Hotel Magma, with its individual cabins.

Glacier Lagoon

After visiting the stunning Diamond Beach (which Doug has good pictures of), we went up the road a bit to take in Glacier Lagoon.
