Doug and I made some new candles from the lumps of wax left when candles die. Usually, the waxes are different colors, and the candles wind up some version of preschool brown. We threw a couple crayons in and got a very nice color.

As posted on Facebook, a hawk was successful in procuring some lunch this afternoon. When we went out to see if he was still around, he was gone but his leftovers were still there, with a trail of rabbit fur leading up to it. It didn’t look like the hawk had actually eaten much, but I didn’t really check that closely
