Today at work, I received a note from a company I recently placed an order with. As usual, I requested a drawing. This response absolutely made my day, and that of many of my coworkers. We are planning to return the surprise at our own staff meeting next month.
If you can’t read it, this is what the note said:
“Hello Alissa and [workplace],
Thank you for ordering with us! We saw your note on your order about including some drawings of our favorite animals with your order. I liked the idea so much that I had our entire staff join in on the fun for our full staff meeting. We hope you enjoy these drawings. Thank you for the prompt that gave us all a fun break and added smiles to our day. We hope these drawings bring just as many smiles to you as they did to us.”

Doug opened up part of a basement wall tonight and found this guy inside. We’ve never actually seen a live mouse in the house, but it doesn’t surprise me that they’ve been here.

We tried this activity at our weekly playdate today (yes, I have a weekly meeting called a playdate): magnet painting. We dipped various metal objects in paint, then dragged them around the paper using a magnet underneath the tray that the paper was on. Fun!

I know lots of people out there are crazy for anything pumpkin spice. I don’t know if this counts since it’s not pumpkin SPICE pasta….

making poetry
One of my favorite things at the Maker Faire was this booth. You could draw them a doodle, and then they’d write you a poem, on a very old fashioned typewriter, right there on the spot.
getting ahead
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a spare head? For those times when you have a splitting headache, a bad hair day, or a big zit on your nose? Rosie the robot sure is lucky.
back of the couch
When we bought this couch a couple years ago, we intentionally did not get one that had cushions on the back. Why? Our previous couch had cushions and the cats liked to lie on them, so they were completely squished. I think this is the first time I’ve seen one of the cats on the back of this couch, and, as planned, it doesn’t squish.
