This year, most of the blossoms on the cherry tree are near the top, so it looks particularly nice from the top floor of the house.

We went for a lovely walk at Great Meadows Wildlife Refuge in Concord today. At the entrance/exit, there’s a blackboard where you can write if you saw anything interesting.  We added a few things as we left, but were not lucky enough to have seen a bee war.

I’ve driven by this house many times.  The first time I noticed it, there was just one chicken, and I thought, “Clearly, someone was inspired by the Beyoncé chicken story. I need to take a picture of this.” And of course I kept forgetting.  Over the years, the chicken family has grown.  Today, I drove by it for the first time in a long time, and actually had a moment to pull over and take a family portrait.

At least we think it’s a dog bone.  Doug pulled this out of the ground the other day while doing some yard work.  I’m thinking it’s from a domestic dog…perhaps a pet.

You can see by the size of the mulch that this is a tiny little flower.  I don’t know what it is, but I quite like it.

Spotted this magazine at the dentist’s office today.  (Which begs the question, why do dentists keep magazines around for so long!!??”)

A package arrived in the mail today, addressed to me, from Laughing Moon Chocolates in Vermont.  “Weird,”  I thought, “I don’t recall ordering anything.”  Opened it up, and there’s this lovely little tray of chocolates from our friends who are spending a couple of months skiing.  Thanks!

 

When you can’t even wait to get out of the parking lot…

Today is National Chocolate and Caramel Day.  My kind of holiday, for sure.

Aside from my 2 recent visits to get vaccinated,  I haven’t been to Fenway Park in over 40 years.  Barring another pandemic or other disaster, I suspect this will be the last time I set foot.
