lemon water

When I pour myself a glass of cold water on a warm summer day, sometimes I like to add a slice of lemon.  For some reason, Doug and I have this running gag that whenever we are out for dinner, and water is served with lemon, we both are obligated to comment, “There’s lemon in the water.”  I don’t know how or why this started.

A while back when I was home with pneumonia or something, my friend Ellen stopped by with a care package.  It included 2 molds for boiled eggs–one of the most Japanese things ever.  I don’t use them often, but I made eggs yesterday, and Doug wanted to try it out.  I had this with my breakfast this morning.

this is where I used to work

I had to pop in to my workplace today to gather up a few things, and it was very strange.  The calendar in my office is still set to March (I didn’t bother fixing it), Sir Multifoot the Explorer is still perched over my desk, and Sparky still hangs on the wall.   I briefly ventured out into the main building; the floors are very very clean. I didn’t linger; the whole thing was just so weird.
