Lis's Project 365

I’m excited to be lighting the candles this year.  In the past few years, I haven’t been able to.  I guess it’s a small silver lining of this pandemic.

Poor Oliver is getting ready to shed. To those who know him well, we can see that his skin is dull and darker than usual.  But more obvious, his eyes have gone “opaque.”   So right now, Oliver’s vision is not very good at all, and he’s hiding under his log where he feels safest.  Going opaque is a sign that the shed should be happening in the next day or so.  Then Oliver will be back to his curious self.

Our poor cherry tree is so confused.  It was a little warm last week, so thought it should prepare to bloom, and today there’s snow on the ground.

Had a conversation with my dad about how to help him keep track of appointments and such, and we decided that a really big wall calendar would be helpful.  So I ordered one, which arrived today.

We chose this couch partly because the back is sturdy, narrow and not made of cushions, so the kitties wouldn’t be able to crush it by sitting on it.  The cats don’t often sit on the back of it, but when they do, it handles it just fine.  I think we chose wisely.

Doug did some work on my phone, and I needed to test the camera.  So I pointed it at him and said “say cheese!”  He obliged, in a typically Doug-like way.

We invited Jen over for Thanksgiving 2.0, and she brought these gorgeous flowers, saying “I figured you didn’t need anymore food.”

Mom came for Thanksgiving, but my doctor said we still shouldn’t sit right near each other.  Not wanting Mom to feel lonely at the end of the table, I brought Snoopy down to keep her company.

As part of a video project for work, Doug and I made these from crayons and old yucky candles.  They came out pretty fantastic, I must say.

Last week, we got a pomegranate in our Imperfect Foods box.  Not a big one, but not tiny either.  Today, our “grocery angels” brought us a pomegranate as this week’s surprise.  It is giant.  This is all serendipitous, since we actually want to have pomegranate on the Oh-Shit-the-Fruit-Plate.
