I’m a reader. Ask anyone who knows me, even a little bit, and they will know that I read. A lot. I read all kinds of stuff: mysteries, chick-lit, kids’ books, travel…. But I’m not a book buyer at all. I have been a huge library user for literally as long as I can remember. Going to the library is part of my routine every week, and if I “run out of book” during the week, it’s a crisis.
Here I am at the Framingham Public Library, in a pretty typical pose.
You can usually count on Whole Foods to have some kind of interesting produce item. These little things caught my eye today. They look like pears with a little butt-crack on one end. It turns out they are plums. Who knew!
Also worth noting that it’s one month into the project now, and while I’ve had a couple days where I wasn’t thrilled with my choice of subject, I haven’t yet resorted to any of the ideas I’m holding for days when I can’t come up with any good ideas. On to month two!
When you’ve got a few hours of snow followed by freezing rain and rain, then a very cold night, you wake up to a big solid mass of frozen slush. A standard snow shovel will not suffice alone. What you need is some salt, some sun, a regular metal digging shovel, then a snow shovel to remove the chipped ice. Followed by a massage.
I had to escape the house for a showing this afternoon, so I went and hung out and the moms’. This is a picture of their dog, Micki, who is a miniature pinscher. Picture a Doberman, but about only about 10lbs. That’s Micki. Like many small dogs, especially those with short hair, she gets cold easily, so the moms have an assortment of sweaters, sweatshirts and pajamas for her.![]()
