I don’t usually pay that much attention to the art that hangs in the library. But this time, I was thrilled to spot this work (the picture of the little girl) that won first place in a local competition….because it was done by my friend Mike Flint!
Ferrous’s nemesis, Orange Kitty, came around today and came right up the porch steps. Ferrous was quick to head over, and the two yowled at each other until I decided enough was enough and went outside to send Orange Kitty home. For a video of the standoff, go here
Newton has set up some story walks around the city. This one is at city hall. In a story walk, a picture book has been taken apart, with each page mounted on a post. The idea is that you walk along to read the book, thus getting a bit of exercise in with your reading.
Somehow, Claire made it this far in the week without setting foot on the beach. I declared that a travesty, and we went for a quick stroll. These prints are mine.
Hurricane Ida rolled through overnight, bringing lots of rain and even a tornado warning. In the morning, the skies were still grey and the ocean was still far from calm.
Shortly before Hurricane Ida showed up, the geese abandoned Ocean Park in favor of Inkwell Beach. I have never seen so many geese at the shore. It was weird.
