not aDOORable

In these times of COVID, Doug and I have taken to going for walks to visit the assorted houses in our neighborhood that are in various stages of construction.  This one is kind of insane.  Since last we saw it, they added front doors.   And man, are they fugly.

flame on

(A second night in a row of a candle flame photo! But not the Hanukah candles…)
The candle on the right has hardly any wick left, but it burned this wee little flame all through dinner without giving up.  A great miracle happened here.

poor guy

Poor Oliver is getting ready to shed. To those who know him well, we can see that his skin is dull and darker than usual.  But more obvious, his eyes have gone “opaque.”   So right now, Oliver’s vision is not very good at all, and he’s hiding under his log where he feels safest.  Going opaque is a sign that the shed should be happening in the next day or so.  Then Oliver will be back to his curious self.
