My mom’s kitty, Ernie, died earlier this month after a life of being spoiled silly by my mother. She is giving away her various cat materials, as she does not aniticipate having another cat. So Gandalf and Ferrous are the lucky recipients of this scratchy stool-thing, that Doug built for Ernie when he was first adopted. So far, G and F don’t seem to be hugely interested in it, but we’ll keep it around for the time being.
Bob Ross sits on my dashboard and keeps me company in the car, with his bobbing head and constant smile. (He’ll also say classic Bob Ross things if I press that button.) Today, his head was bopping in perfect time to the AC/DC tune that was on the radio.
There’s a chocolate shop on the other end of Newton, and I was near there today so of course I stopped in. We keep them around for after-dinner treats. Doug is in charge of distributing them, because I have no self control.
So I’m doing the dishes tonight, and I reach over to get more soap, and suddenly this weird little red thing appears in the bottom of the sink. So I pick it up, and it’s the tip of the thumb of my dish glove.
Decided to finally get rid of my old textbooks, which have been sitting in the basement since we moved here. Not only have I never looked at them, they are all completely outdated. I learned that Newton’s recycling program will take hardover books if you remove the cover. So, away they go.
Steamed some eggs this morning. Pretty sure one was hatching an alien.
Woke up with this semi-black eye this morning. Absolutely no idea what happened.
I had a very early appointment at MGH this morning. So early that when I was finished, I didn’t want to head home just yet because it was still peak rush hour. What to do? Go out for a tasty breakfast, and get some cookies to bring home, of course.
I met my ELL student for “coffee” today (I don’t drink coffee. I had hot chocolate.) She got the world’s most adorable cappuccino. 
Wow, the Squirrel Nut Zippers are fun to see live! I didn’t even know 90% of the songs they performed, and I had a blast. So much energy, so much charisma, so much talent. Take a look at the number of instruments being played, and then realize that several of them actually switched off among several instruments, and taking turns at lead vocals. Really fantastic show!
the 3 guys on the left with the washboard, spoons, and horseshoe were, in fact, the horns section. The guy with the fiddle played…I don’t know…5 different things? So fun.
