pretty wildflower

A few years ago, my mom gave us a bag of random wildflower seeds. We planted it when we moved, not having very high hopes, given the age of the bag. We’ve been pleasantly surprised so far by the variety of flowers we’ve had, including this one.

“lawn”

This is one of those things that cracks me up about Arizona. They live in the desert, but everyone has some tiny useless patch of grass that they are fiercely protective of, and water religiously. Which is part of the reason why the  Colorado River no longer flows all the way to the ocean.

big telescope

I took Leah and Paige to the Arizona Science Center, which was actually a lot cooler than I thought it would be. On our way out, we spent a few minutes playing with this giant telescope. As you look in it, it shows you some very nice photos. But the cool thing is, there is a monitor above it that shows anyone else a gigantic view of your eye, which is what Leah is looking at.
