sometimes you can find the  most delightful things while wandering around the office space at work.

Found this waiting in my mailbox today, from the Union of Concerned Scientists, who keep sending me shit. No letter, no note, just this sticker. Which is, of course, now stuck on my office door, because it’s awesome.

I love the Great Harvest Bread Company.  You can go in and get a free slice of bread and nothing else, and they really don’t seem to mind. Today I had a slice of their fantabulous cinnamon swirl bread, still warm from the oven. Mmmmmmmm….

Because of our trip there is, of course, no food in the house. Which can only mean one thing…a trip to Russo’s!

At this point, we’ve been awake for about 30 hours, just spent the last three with an incredibly fussy toddler behind us, and all we want is to get our luggage and go home.

Doug and I spent the day moving around the various salons and patios at the hotel, killing time until our late night flight. This handsome dude was in the outdoor patio, guarding the “pool” (which was all of ten feet long).

We went zip lining today. I was fairly terrified, but still managed to do it. It was fun, but I think I can consider it something I can check off my list of experiences and not do it again.

Once we’ve posted the entire gallery of pictures from this trip, I’m certain you will see Doug’s pictures of this beautiful jay. What the picture won’t show you is that the jay was one of several who were very cooperative and completely unfazed by our presence. Here’s Doug and our guide Mario taking advantage of the birds’ lack of interest in them.

We arrived at Arenal Observatory Lodge today, but is is unfortunately rainy and cool. But not so bad that we couldn’t go on a short hike to a nearby waterfall. After today’s long bus ride, which included about an hour on some Class IV roads, it was good to be moving around.

Went for a hike at Careras National Park today. Beautiful place with very good paths. When we came across this random doorway, Doug commented that it looked like something off Lost.
