What the hell does this display mean? I mean seriously….what’s the marketing message here?

in Anchorage they have tall markers on hydrants so they can find them in the snow. I guess it’s never seemed necessary around here. Until now.

My mom and I were also amused at the way you can see the layers of snow. You could pull out a core sample and do a geologic study.

or maybe not. this is the little bench and table at the back of our yard. they do both have legs, I swear.

The snow on the side of the driveway is piled as high as our neighbor’s fence. 

The moon is notoriously difficult to photograph, especially if you’re not using a big professional grown-up camera. So I’m pretty pleased with this, off my little Canon point and shoot.

our porch project required an unexpected repair to the basement ceiling. the repair resulted in our wooden shelves no longer fitting in their space. but that wasn’t so hard to fix…
