Lis's Project 365

Our beautiful sunny streak ended today with lots of clouds and cooler temps. What better way to spend the day than sitting on the porch, reading yet another book and sipping a cuppa?

I’m not sure which church this is, but it was quite dramatic above the hustle and bustle of downtown Oak Bluffs on a Friday night.

In front of our porch there is a lovely perennial garden. Currently there are echinacea blooming and some other dark pink flower I don’t know. At any rate, the bees love it.

it makes me happy that kids still draw their own hopscotch boards using chalk. I took this in the area where the gingerbread houses are.

I wandered into the candy shop up the street to buy myself a little treat and spotted this bowl. “sharks’ teeth?” I thought.  “I wonder what sort of candy that is.” And then I spotted the little disclaimer. I guess the owner got sick of people asking. But it does beg the question why does a candy shop have a bowl of sharks’ teeth?

We walked around a bit after dinner and were drawn to Ocean Park by the kite flying going on. Here, Kat, Jeff and Doug do an album cover pose by all looking in different directions.

When we arrived at the house yesterday, this was sitting on the counter waiting for us.

I know I overpacked. It’s just that the last time the forecast call for a cool week, it turned out to be quite warm and I didn’t have sufficient warm-weather clothes with me. So this time, I’m well prepared.

I hate to return from vacation and have a messy desk, so I always clean mine before I go. This time I even cleaned out the junk drawer–that was an adventure.

This is a ring-billed gull. They are smaller than your more familiar herring gull, but have just as much attitude.
