My coworker Juli has declared that we shall have a Brownie Bake-off on Tuesday at work. Today Doug and I cooked up a batch of Turtle Brownies; the batter was quite tasty, so here’s hoping the brownies will be too!

Went to the Revere Sandsculpting Festival today. Every year I see the pictures online and think “dammit! I wanted to go see that!” and this year I finally did.
This was my favorite sculpture. I should have taken a picture of the backside as well, which showed the rest of the lion’s body, with his head stuck through the front-facing opening.

The last one was a Black Swallowtail. This time it’s a Spicebush Swallowtail. Pretty groovy looking little fellow, isn’t he?
a midsummer night
Doug and I enjoy having dinner outside in the summer. It’s not very buggy on our deck, and we get to enjoy the evening sky.
