luckily, we had no real damage from yesterday’s storm–a little bit of water in the basement and a few smaller branches. and lots of sticks. I made a first pass this afternoon, but there’s still plenty left.

In dire times, people seem to go for the cheap store brand white bread, rather than the more expensive kinds that they usually buy. which seems a bit ridiculous when you consider they’ll be eating it for the next 6 months.
Here’s what the sky looked like as I walked to the subway. When I emerged at the other end, Mother Nature was throwing everything she had at us. I was soaked to the skin in just seconds.
Apparently people can’t be trusted to notice that the crosswalk now ends inside the construction fence, so they “painted” over it and created a new one.
