this is just a little island at an intersection on a residential street nearby. and it has a chair. maybe it’s for the mail carrier if he needs a break.
on a side note, apparently a house right near here had the boiler explode about an hour before I took this shot.
These animals always look like they’re smiling. This guy is named Happy Sampson, in the tradition of a nearby zoo naming all its tiger salamanders Happy something.
this is Peter. He guards my office door. A few years back we got a bunch of orange and purple gloves in the shop, and one of our staff was making this little creatures out of them; when I commented on how much I liked them, she made one for me.
this little hermit crab has spent a lot of time lately checking out other shells. he crawls over them, pokes around at them with his legs, sticks his antenna in and investigates thoroughly. but so far, he hasn’t found the perfect new place yet. I know that feeling.
this tickled my funny bone–usually spray paint like this tells you where you can’t park. This is letting you know that it’s OK. Right here. Because this was the only place on the street marked this way.
