another insane free day at work has come and gone. this year, we had a whole bunch of outdoor activities going on, all based around a pirate/nautical theme. so we got this statue. which was pretty cool. it was especially fun to watch kids go up and try to touch it, only to have it turn around slowly and wag a finger at them.

it’s nice to be able to watch the town fireworks for the comfort of our air conditioned and bug-free third floor.
also, how cool is the moon. at first I thought it just looked red from the fireworks, but no, it was red all on its own.

at work today, I helped a colleague lead a top-building workshop. Kids got paper plates of various sizes, pencils and binder clips. Most kids were pretty successful, but this one boy was a top-building genius.
