this was fun. this week’s recording of everyone favorite radio news quiz was broadcast to movie theaters all over the US and Canada.  Carl Kassel’s face, 20 feet tall is not something one forgets quickly.  Speaking of Carl Kassel, take a look at his Wikipedia page…

I’m not really sure what this is about, but it made for an interesting photograph

at dinner tonight, Doug suddenly said “oh, that cucumber looks cool against the bowl.”  since I had my camera on me, and hadn’t yet taken a picture and it did, in fact, look cool…I took a picture.

one of my favorite spring flowers. little amethyst jewels scattered around the lawn….

while I understand there are people who are legitimately unable to deal with this, everything else about this card made me laugh.  

the process of adding the porch on last year pretty much destroyed the grass and beds that were in that area, so we’re putting a patio in. the bricks arrived today.

Watson is wearing his own origami samurai helmet, as he prepares to celebrate the Japanese holiday of Boys’ Day (aka Children’s Day) next week

I think these are meant to be Devil Dogs made with red velvet cake.  I think red velvet cake is weird anyway; here, it just seems wrong.

these mini daffodils popped up this week, but one of them seems a little confused about which way it should be facing…
