we had a meeting today about the big birthday weekend coming up. there were goodie bags with toys and candy. I was pretty pleased about this frog.

gently down the Channel….

this is Estrella. she lives at another children’s museum.  Apparently, they change her dress and her headdress with the seasons, but she hasn’t switched over to her fall look yet.  I found her a bit creepy.

for most people, if you come in to your office and find someone has left something on your desk, it’s probably a report to read or some  paperwork to complete.  maybe someone surprised you with a cup of coffee or a muffin.  I find dead things. but this well preserved dragonfly is certainly better than the dead starfish.

to celebrate his birthday, Doug wanted to go on a tour of the Taza chocolate factory. We did not see Willy Wonka, but we did see a lot of cool stuff, including this table where the limited edition seasonal gingerbread bars are wrapped for shipping.  I love that there are glue sticks.

this is Snowball. I just had to pet him in spite of the fact that I am really allergic to bunnies.  I washed my hands several times and still wound up sniffy and itchy….but he’s so cute!!! and so soft!!!  how could I resist?

one of my favorite exhibits has returned. it’s all about music and contains, among other things, a number of collectables, like this awesome lunch box.  just off camera, on the right, is a Russian nesting doll of Madonna.  I’d love to see what the inner dolls look like.

we were playing around with some exhibit prototyping. we needed some nerf-type balls but didn’t have any handy, so I went to my office and retrieved this “stress ball” heart from the stash of 600.  it floats on a column of air quite nicely, I must say.

had a lovely dinner at Tempo last night with Doug and my mom, which I finished off with one of the teas from this pretty little tray.

sometimes at work I do strange things. and by the way, that’s ground-up Tums. I swear.
