Staffed the information desk for a while this afternoon.  It was kind of quiet, so I was glad this monster had been moved from its location on the other side of the lobby, so it could keep me company.

I guess Doug and I should count ourselves lucky that a bag of these appeared in our Boston Organics delivery, at no extra charge!

Volunteered at More Than Words book warehouse today….a very cool organization that I strongly recommend you check out. Amid the piles of donated books we sorted through, we came across a large number of law books, and among them, piles of articles and handwritten notes.  Either this person gave up on earning a law degree, or is finally confident enough in their job that they felt OK about getting rid of all this stuff.

We celebrated Physiology Understanding Day at work today, and while I waited for volunteers to arrive, I played around on the blackboard in a nearby exhibit.

It’s nice that our polling place is just a 5 minute walk away.   I was voter #312 this morning.

For her birthday, I took Ali to a “paint nite” program.  I know my artist friends are horrified at this sort of thing, but I have a lot of fun at these.  Here’s Ali, prepared to tackle her blank canvas.

I read about this idea online somewhere….cut eyeholes out of TP tubes, put glowsticks inside, and tuck them in the bushes as a Halloween decoration. 

I love scarves, but I really don’t know what to do with then.  Recently someone told me about scarves.net, and then someone else gave me this pretty scarf.  So I checked the site for ideas and I tied it all by myself!  Gold star for me!

I love the rainbow carrots, they add so much color to a salad.  I was especially pleased to slide open the red one and discover it was yellow inside.

Met my old boss and my old boss’s boss for brunch today.  Of course, now I just call them “friends” and I’m glad we’re still in touch.
