I think it is a requirement that if you are going to have a house in Oak Bluffs, you must have lots of flowers around.

The tradition is, first night on the Vineyard is to have dinner at Offshore Ale.  This pretty flower was just outside.  If Google Images can be trusted, it’s a spider flower

I always think these are so cheery.  And they have very tasty seeds.

You’d think I took this in a meadow somewhere, but no….this is just a planting at the end of someone’s driveway up the street.

The theme of the week is “flowers.”
This bud vase sits in the corner by our kitchen table. The flowers are fake, which is the only kind we can have; otherwise, the cats eat them.
And yes, that is Nick Fury keeping watch over everything.

Newton is electing a mayor,  city councilors and some other stuff in November.  And the signs are already out in full force.

For those of you unfamiliar with it,  “Reefer Madness” was a PSA film that was made in 1936 condemning the evils of marijuana.  It was ridiculously over the top, and has turned into something of a cult classic. Then someone thought it would make a good musical….and they were 100% right.

The woman I help on Thursdays lives in a building with many people who speak Chinese or Russian, so all the signs in the place are in 3 languages, possibly soon to be 4 if they add Spanish.

So this plant was put in the ground, dug up and replanted, and then dug up and replanted again.  It just keeps coming back from the dead.
(and yes, we do refer to it as the “Lazarus bush.”)

Sometimes you see signs like this posted at stores and other businesses.  But really, it’s just a generally good idea that we should follow in life.
