Kat served a delicious meal to a small group, but however small, it was so great to see everyone.

We wanted to make gingerbread cookies, but sandwich cookies with a lemon filling.  After flipping through several recipes and pulling this step from that recipe and another step from this recipe…..we came across a recipe for “crispy lemon ginger sandwich cookies” by the very baker we prefer.  Merry Christmas.

When I ordered apples from Imperfect Foods this week, the imperfection was noted as “small size.”  And I thought, that’s fine, sometimes you order 2 lbs of apple and only good 2-3 apples, this way I’ll get more but slightly smaller.

So…if you need a couple tablespoons of chopped apples, let me know, and I’ll bring one over to you.

Hard to imagine that earlier today they were hissing, and beating the crap out of each other.

I have finally declared defeat and put away my warm weather clothes for the season.

The blue inside of this tulip was a surprise to see.

A local organization had a clothing/textile drive today.  The pile of bags and boxes was unbelievable—well over 6 feet high, and 15 feet across maybe? Just piles and piles of stuff.  We contributed 3 shopping bags.

 

I cut open a mini red pepper and found this poor little dude inside…

The new job means I spend a lot of time flicking back and forth between looking a short distance away and looking very close up.  This meant I was constantly taking my glasses on and off.  So, I bit the bullet and got bifocals.  They are progressives and will take some getting used to.  Also, they are purple.

A sea of poinsettias.  And this was just one row!  There were two more just like it.  That’s a whole lot of plants.
