Doug and I went to a paint bar tonight. Appropriately enough, the subject was a snowy night in Boston along the Charles. We were both pretty pleased with our results; as Doug said “certainly good enough for the garage” (which is where our painting gallery resides).
not my ride
Stretch limos are so pretentious. Especially at a place geared to kids and families.
subway
For the second day in a row, my battery was dead. So, after it was jump started, I drove my car to the garage and asked the nice folks there if they could drop me at the Waltham train station; which I then took to Porter Square and the red line. Not a good start to the day.
self portrait
They’re creating a directory for my department at work, and want pictures that show our whole face. I’m getting pretty good at using the timer feature on my camera, and I’m pretty pleased with this shot. And yes, this really is my office.
cardboard and more
This is a lot of recycle bins to be sitting out in the middle of the day. I wonder if someone has just moved in or out of an office in this building.
the masked explorer
Got my very own mask and snorkel today. During our Galapagos trip, we will be snorkeling almost daily, so it seemed worthwhile to get one that was fitted properly.
quack
There were duck eggs available at our meat share pickup this month, so we got some. They taste pretty much like chicken eggs, but the white is firmer and the overall taste is a little bit richer. Most importantly, Doug’s egg sensitivity doesn’t seem to have transferred over.
towels
Got some new towels. They’ve been washed and folded and are ready to dry us off.
Spocked!
Back in July, I got a birthday card with a five dollar bill inside from a Canadian friend. (My birthday is in April.) When I asked him about it, he apologized for being so late, but thought I’d enjoy the chance to “Spock” a bill, and he’d been waiting for one to come around so he could send it to me. I figure it’s only fair that I’ve since waited 6 months to get around to doing it.
sweatshirt
I’ve had this sweatshirt for at least 10 years–way before the little yellow hydrant-shaped characters came along, and now when people see it, they say “oh! minions!! I love them!” . I want to add some text to it: “Do you even really know what the word “minions” means??!?”
..sigh…
