At work, I often have programs that run right over the lunch hour, and I don’t sit down to eat until after 2:00. It doesn’t really bother me, but it is nice to have a snack to tide me over before the program begins. This tasty chocolate-and-orange combo just about hit the spot this morning.
shot
So now I hopefully won’t be detained in Panama (or anywhere else) for never being properly vaccinated on our return from Ecuador.
guanciale
Went down to the basement this morning to put some groceries in the freezer. Saw this big slab ‘o meat hanging from the ceiling. Was only mildly alarmed, given who I am married to. Shook my head, went back upstairs.
blue lobster
(with apologies to Bobby Vinton)
He’s a bluuuuuuuue lobster (ooo ooo ooo)
Bluer than ocean was his shell
I know you’re thinking “what the hell.”
Not from Mars.
just call him Gandalf in the morning
Gandalf is a wonderful subject for black-and-white photographs. Otherwise, he tends to just sort of disappear–he’s the color of every shadow.
vacation tease
These spiffy T-shirts arrived in the mail yesterday from the tour company we’re using for our Galapagos trip at the end of the month.
why hello, Dorothy
Dorothy is just hanging out in the corner near one of the offices at work, and every time I go down there and see her out of the corner of my eye, I do a double take. It’s actually a little creepy.
Boston skyline
Doug and I took a walk around Mt Auburn Cemetery today, including a hike to the tower at the very top, where we took in this lovely view.
Gifford kitty
Dropped by Gifford cat shelter today to drop off some donations, and spent some time visiting with the residents. Including this playful kitty, who played with me for a minute before suddenly going insane and leaping up to the beams at the ceiling.
Cats.
phone book
So few people use it that hardly anyone advertises in it anymore. So now it’s not even big enough to act as a booster seat.
