Today is my coworker Dianne’s birthday. My other coworker Cora made her a donut board (no, she did not invent this idea…apparently, it’s a thing). Cora and I decided it would be funny if one of the donuts had a big bite out of it, so of course I was happy to oblige.

birds don’t care about art
I’m always amused when I see cormorants and other birds sitting on whatever art happens to be floating in the Channel. I wonder if the artists consider that their creations are going to be covered in bird shit.

Today was the first National Chemistry Week event at work without my friend Chris. I think she was there in spirit; things went really well, the volunteers were super, and kids had a great time.Those of us running the event were really feeling her absence today, but also her presence.
