From the little boat Jeff rented, we got a really good look at this colony of cormorants; you can clearly see a couple nests with Junior cormorants in them. We discussed how these birds suck at taking off and landing, and how dumb it is that they aren’t waterproof (the one with its wings open is doing so to try off).  It’s a good thing they can fish.

We knew that when Claire invited us to walk some trails with her that we’d be stopping every 5 feet while she investigated something that no one else would notice.  So it took 2 hours to walk a 1.5 mile trail, but it was really cool and interesting to learn all this stuff that Claire knew.  Thanks, Claire!

The very tip of Cape Cod, in Provincetown, seems kind of anticlimactic. I feel like there should be some kind of big sign or marker or something, aside from the lighthouse.  You know, a big neon sign with a flashing arrow pointing at it.

Since Doug posted the picture of the swan, I am posting this.  This show was so cool–a live string quartet playing The Four Seasons and some other selections, while a series of related images appeared in the sky by way of many drones.  There was a much bigger crowd than I expected, but the images were easy to see as they appeared over Harvard’s stadium.

The first poet laureate of Massachusetts, Regie Gibson, speaks to a crowd at Thursday’s “Make Good Trouble” protest.  His words were heartening.

We caught a fantastic concert at Tanglewood:  openers Fastball and Sugar Ray, headlined by the Barenaked Ladies. If you’re a BNL fan and this tour is coming your way, you should absolutely go.  It was really great fun. And, as you can see, quite well attended.

The first night of our Berkshires vacation, we attended this performance at the famous Shakespeare & Company in Lenox MA.  We had no idea what to expect; Shakespeare “cabaret”??  what the heck is that?
It was fantastic.  Players performed short scenes from different plays, and then the band would play a song that somehow related, mostly classic rock.  Incredibly talented people all around.
If they do it again (this was their 2nd time), highly recommend you check it out if you’re in the area.

Every small inn needs a dog (or a cat).  This is the resident pup at Brook Farm Inn.  Her name is Hex and she is a Very Good Girl.

We divided up a patch of daffodils today.  We filled this entire bucket, replanted a bunch of them, and gave some away to friends.  Fingers crossed for lots of blooms next spring!
