Our bathroom has a working sink! Huzzah!  So we moved all our crap from the downstairs half bath up to this one, and it’s the best thing ever.  We have lower standards now.

 

This wasn’t the picture I intended to post, but by the time I remembered it was too late.  So instead, a photo of a Ferrous, deeply asleep with his paw over his nose.

I’ve been sitting outside as much as I can and enjoying the assorted birds and other critters that come around.  Our bird bath gets a lot of use:  robins and starlings in particular love to splash around in it, and many other birds (and sometimes squirrels and even bees) stop by for a drink.  Mourning doves are regular customers.

They took the IV line out today.   So I’m no longer carrying around the bag that delivers 24 hour meds.  And I could finally take a decent shower, since I didn’t have to worry about keeping my left arm dry.  It’s the little things, y’know?

Doug picked up my glaze color test chips, and a few of my pieces from the clay studio at the community center.  So we did some glazing today.  My instructor is going to swing by Monday afternoon to pick stuff up and bring it to the studio kiln tomorrow.

Doug posted about the shower, which is all very nice.  But this addition to our bath means no more going up and down the stairs at 3am to pee.
Baby steps…..

I was shocked to be wheeled into the room and discover ONE bed.  Just one!  A room all to myself!  This happens again, I am telling my docs I want to be at Newton-Wellesley, even though they want me in MGH Boston.   At least at NWH, there’s a chance of  my own room; would never happen at MGH.

It’s been 8 years since I was hospitalized for a respiratory infection.  The ER procedure hasn’t changed much, even though my doc had sent a message ahead of time saying I should be admitted. Still 5 hours before I got upstairs.  Good times.

Doug posted a picture of the progress in the green  bathroom.  There was also progress in the primary bathroom.  Lights and medicine cabinets are nice, but I’m really looking forward to a toilet so I don’t have to go up and down the stairs at 3am.

I was sick of being in the house, and it was a lovely day, so I sat on the back patio all afternoon.  Saw many little feathered visitors come to the feeder, and to the bird bath.  I do have a fondness for nuthatches; they’re just so cute and perky.
