Some trains have a dining car, some have a quiet car. The commuter rail sometimes has this.

I suspect the sign was hung this morning because it was perfectly comfortable this afternoon.

This is what snow should be like. Light, fluffy, just enough to cover the landscape and make it pretty, all of which make it easy to shovel.

This is Sal. She is a Black and White Tegu Lizard. Her tongue is difficult to photograph because it’s always in motion. She’s cool.

why bother creating a real product that has the same name and look as its fictional counterpart, but is not, in fact, that product…? I mean if you’re going to do it….do it.

there were several of these ceramic women in a display case at work, but it got deinstalled, and now they are scattered randomly about the back offices. I don’t know if any of the others are holding their right fingers in their left hand, or if any of the others are wearing monkey masks. But both those features make this one particularly creepy.

there’s a cool installation at work, for all that it’s very simple: a bunch of hula hoops mounted on the ceiling, with bells on strings dangling down at different lengths. If you walk through it slowly with your hands out, it makes a lovely sound.

I realize Kat has also posted a picture of microwave popcorn, but what can I say. It’s tasty stuff and easy to photograph.

I went to visit my best friend today, who is recuperating from surgery. She’s tired but otherwise doing very well. Partly because of Penelope here, who is cheerful and generally nice to have around, but also helps in finding comfortable sleeping positions.

This is what happens when the wick burns all the way to the bottom, and you pick up the candle and the wick doesn’t come along.
