the great thing about eating with Jeff is nothing goes to waste.  he will finish everything off everyone’s plate. in fact, at dinner this evening he announced that no one was to send back any plates with food on them, unless they planned on taking it home. it was impressive to watch.

this ball did not belong to any of us. it just sat there in the stream, blissfully letting the water wash over it. of course, after we saw it, two of us managed to put a ball into the drink….

we don’t know who the statue is, but the suggestion is that it is the man who invented Martha’s Vineyard. clearly, alcohol had been consumed.

it is our tradition that the first night on the island we have dinner at Offshore Ale. There is a huge barrel of peanuts just inside the door, and people just grab them and eat them and throw the shells on the floor. Like Ground Round used to be. Back in the days before everyone was allergic to everything and everyone sued everyone.
but anyway…..

the real reason to get a pedicure is to be able to observe how fast your toenails grow.

this summer has been pretty wacky, but it has had some beautiful sunsets

I don’t know what the story is on this, and I am not quite sure about which building it’s on, but it caught my eye.

I’m still not sure quite what happened at work today. I just know there were flying fists, sparkly top hats, Harry Potter glasses and bow ties. and no, this was not out on the floor. this was behind the scenes. I don’t know how it happened.

today we met in the Japanese House. one of the floor staff figured that once we learned the proper way to set out the futon, it really needed to be properly tested.
