In addition to the traditional eating of Chinese food last night, we had a Yankee swap….for socks. Everyone brought a pair of wrapped socks. I got these, my bear-foot socks. I’m quite pleased with them.

After the appetizers had been cleared, Rachel realized that she had 3 forks. So a bunch of handed over the forks we weren’t using, figuring more forks is better.

This guy was just hanging out in the lobby of MGH, radiating coolness and Christmas cheer.

This holiday card from my friend Coe and her girlfriend is easily the best holiday card I have seen in a really long time…possibly ever. On the reverse side is an “I Spy” type list of things to search for in the photo. Brilliant!

I don’t like inflatable holiday decorations, and this is part of the reason why.

Yesterday at work there was a goodbye party for a coworker who’s moving to Japan. She said she will miss french fries, so the party featured $50 worth of fries with various toppings people brought in. Some of the leftovers were in the lunch room this morning. I question the maple syrup. And I don’t know what’s in the jar.

I went upstairs this morning to chat with a coworker, and when I came back downstairs, I had acquired a bag of dog hair (not pictured), and an octopus. Now…what to name him?
