cousins
This was supposed to be a selfie, but I looked awful so I cropped myself out of it. Spent the evening with my cousin Lindsay and her daughter who are visiting from Arizona. Wandered around Boston then headed to Cambridge for ice cream, and had a really lovely evening. So good to see them!
interesting dead moth
A coworker emailed me that she had “an interesting dead moth” and would I like to have it. It turned out to be a butterfly, but still interesting.
why is there a watermelon there?
This is the question I asked my coworker when I walked by her office this afternoon. Sadly, she did not know the correct answer. (If you also do not know the correct answer, please watch this clip from “The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpVXpCNFOSg )
R2D2 x 2
As the multiple R2’s rolled around the Maker Faire today, I was amused at the number of young kids who recognized the droid. I was also amused at how the random beeps, bells and whistles are so instantly recognizable.
pool party
We think our bird bath might be one of the only consistent sources of water around for the birds, and these feathered friends were certainly taking advantage of it this hot afternoon.
mystery wound
Just looked down and noticed my arm is bleeding. It’s like I’ve been bitten by a 3-fanged vampire.
bridge art
A couple years ago I took a picture of this installation that shows what the whole thing kind of looks like(http://blog.parkercat.org/lis365/2014/09/09/public_art/). It’s back, and this picture is so much better. I love the funky angle, the colors, and especially the sparkles from the water.
reminder
It’s not often that Doug writes himself notes, and this one struck me funny for some reason. I invite all of you to interpret its meaning…
peek a boo 2
A couple years ago I posted a very similar picture (http://blog.parkercat.org/lis365/2014/02/20/peek_a_boo_1/) of Ferrous hiding under the blanket, but I couldn’t resist this.
