prototyping

we were playing around with a new exhibit idea today; there were some giant blowers set on a table and the floor beneath and we tied streamers to them and tossed in paper leaves, fabric and other stuff. this is how the magic happens, people….

meanwhile, when I got the picture off the camera, I decided I really wanted to show off the long ribbon, and the background was distracting. so I went back to the camera and selected just the red; it’s one of my favorite features to play with.

animal defenses

there’s an activity at work with things like turtle shells, deer antlers, and other objects that demonstrate how animals defend themselves. I had Watson out today and he seemed a fine addition.  and yes, that’s a freakin’ huge lobster claw he’s sitting on.

piano, man

part of Boston’s new city wide public piano program, this one is installed in front of where I work. as I sat outside at lunch, I was treated to a spirited duet of “Heart and Soul” by two men who may or may not have actually known each other, and a technically excellent but less spirited version of “My Heart will go On.”
