at dinner tonight, Doug suddenly said “oh, that cucumber looks cool against the bowl.”  since I had my camera on me, and hadn’t yet taken a picture and it did, in fact, look cool…I took a picture.

while I understand there are people who are legitimately unable to deal with this, everything else about this card made me laugh.  

the process of adding the porch on last year pretty much destroyed the grass and beds that were in that area, so we’re putting a patio in. the bricks arrived today.

I think these are meant to be Devil Dogs made with red velvet cake.  I think red velvet cake is weird anyway; here, it just seems wrong.

these mini daffodils popped up this week, but one of them seems a little confused about which way it should be facing…

the boys spent much of the day glued to the open window on the porch. technically, Ferrous is not allowed on the table, but it was such a cute picture, I let it go.  rest assured, when he tried it again later on, I suggested he not do that again.

after yesterday’s explosions, flags flew at half-staff today.

we had folks over for dinner the other night, and I was commenting that it’s too bad none of them have ever seen the true nature of our kitties because they are still so shy around strangers.  when no one else is here, Gandalf is a total mush, rolling over for his belly to be rubbed and generally being very cute.
