Went to a workshop sort of thing today to see some other museums’ programs. Always good to see how other people teach.

The problem with S is that it’s for lots of things. I was able to cull all the pictures I took today down to two, but could not decide between them, so everyone gets a bonus picture today.

Went for a walk in the woods today. I took pictures of this rock from a different angle, but when I came around to this side, I saw that it sort of has an “old man in the mountain” profile.

We’ll make change for folks at the info desk for lockers, feeding the meter and for one of those machines that will squish a design into a penny. It surprises me the number of people who don’t realize that you have to supply the penny. or, conversely, that assume that all you need to supply is the penny.

This chair is upholstered in plastic bags–the kind the New York Times comes in.

and a big shout-out to Hedwig. Thanks to her, a whole generation can now identify this bird.

There’s a lot of talk about how newspapers will soon be a thing of the past. I hope not.  What will the crossword puzzle junkies do on the train? How will people know what to expect if they can’t read their horoscopes? What will I use to line the bottom of the snake’s cage?

Doug and I have been kayaking a few times, and it’s OK. But we much prefer our canoe, whence this picture was taken.
