Went out to dinner and a show to celebrate Rachel’s wedding next weekend. Rock of Ages was awesome! Rad! And lots of other 80’s slang words. It was nothin’ but a good time.

Why is it that brand new clean sneakers are kind of embarrassing?

When I was little and we would drive to visit my family in Belchertown, MA, my brother and I thought it was just the funniest name in the whole world, and would celebrate with burps. Now that I am older and more mature….it still makes me laugh. I mean…Belchertown? C’mon.

so when you ride the train at the same time every day, you see the same people. and you come up with little names for them in your head. I used to ride with Cocaine Guy. I get on at the same station as Angry Girl.

Anyway, this is Weird Dude. He stands right in this spot every day, which is right in the way of everyone walking by.  He will budge for no man. I once said “excuse me” to him and he snarled. Today, he did himself one better by standing so that his umbrella made it nearly impossible to step around him, especially since many people were also carrying umbrellas. Yep. He’s the Weird Dude.

it’s grey and drizzly out as I head into South Station to go home.

here’s what sits on our kitchen table. the flowers (even if they’re fake), lighter for candles, sea salt and pepper grinder remind us that ours is a table for grown-ups, which we like.

Saw Spamalot today with my mom. She has never seen any Monty Python (until she rented Holy Grail a month ago), but we got tickets anyway. Happy to report that she loved it.

I imagine the manufacturer of these containers figures they’d normally be used for things like soup, stew and chowder. Not ice cream.

Perhaps you’ve heard the expression “dumb as a box of hammers”? well, my friends and I like to say that someone is “dumb as a box of hair.”  Like this.
