ah, the bottleneck as everyone tries to get down to the subway all at the same time. Ain’t it fun getting to work? But not as fun as singing about work…go on. you know you want to.

Yep, just when you think there’s nothing interesting to see at work, a 40-foot cod parks itself in the channel out front.

Funny (but unrelated) story: I had some blood drawn today.  The tech asked if I’d had any drawn this year, and I said ” at least twice! I know, because I have a picture of the tube in my arm! and a picture of the vials!”  Project 365 saves the day.

This is not nearly as good a shot as Doug would get with his mega-camera, but that’s OK. Let’s hope this little woodpecker has decided that suet is far more tasty than whatever he was pecking at on the side of our house.

Went to Open Studios today at the Arlington Center for the Arts. One artist was showing jewelry and had this on her table.

Her work was nice I guess, but I was really there to support my friend Bridget . Her stuff was fabulous, and I say that as someone who doesn’t “get” art at all.

Today at work I learned that I am allergic to Brazilian short-tailed opossums. They give me a rash.

How do I know this?

BONUS PICTURES
We had a very special visitor at work today. I think this is a young red-tail, and it was sitting on the 4th floor roof

a few months back I got the floor staff to pose for a picture of their feet. Today, it was hands. They really are pretty good sports.

You can’t simply go up to Winnie and start petting her; that would be Alarming. First you have to make just the slightest bit of noise so she knows you are coming. Then let her sniff you. After that, it’s pretty easy–just hold your hand out and she will rub her head along it in all the good spots.

Doug made some very excellent flatbread to go with some lovely pea soup for dinner tonight. I hate when the weather cools, but it at least brings some tasty dishes.

Well, a few months back I did a week of feet, and this week I’m focusing on hands. Mine, other people’s, it doesn’t matter.

I was actually trying to decide what my theme would be when I noticed that my fingers wrapped around my water glass looked pretty cool. So here we are.
