the steak is from our meat CSA and the veggies are from the Farmers’ Market I went to today. everything was delicious.

while we were away, the cats were shy with the housesitter and therefore did not get brushed. so I brushed Mr Gandalf when we got home. and now we have enough fur to build a new cat

Kris’s appetizer at Sidecar tonight

completely independently, Kris and I got the same colors on our toes.  (that’s me on the right)

Doug figured out that there’s a little adjustment you can make on the kite for different wind conditions. we both had a lot more fun with it, and did a lot more experimenting with “steering” it, instead of just responding to where it went. this was a particularly windy day, but we still had a blast!

such happy dogs. these two were waiting for their person, who was presumably browsing at the artisans’ fair.  they were so quiet and well behaved, but they didn’t seem to want me to come too close, so I didn’t.

it cracks me up when we have hawks or owls at work, and parents tell their kids there’s a “birdie.”  if this hawk could understand English, she’d rip your friggin’ head off for saying that.  

I had to sort 4 bags of jelly beans into little cups. my job, as I’ve said before, is strange.

celebrating our 100th birthday at work, and August is officially “Birthday Month.”  so we’ve declared tomorrow is Watson’s birthday and we’ll be singing to him and giving him presents (exactly what presents, I don’t know).  anyway…doesn’t he just look pleased as could be?
