I had a little time to kill this afternoon, so I went to check out the new Asian market; Doug had put a couple things on the shopping list.  One of them was noodles.  This is the noodle aisle.

…unless you do.  I was in Framingham visiting with a friend today, so I called the folks who were my neighbors when I was a kid to ask them to check in with the new owners of “our” house and see if they’d mind me poking around the house where I grew up.  This used to be my bedroom.  I told them I was glad to still see purple.  I’m also amused that the ceiling is exactly the same.

Ali and I went to the Camp Runels open house today.  We were given a tour (which I thought was funny) by two counselors who thought it was so cool that we’d been there in the 80s.  We came across a few familiar names on the walls in the boat house and craft house.  Not much has changed.  Which made me happy.

The shelter’s annual Garden Party fundraiser was tonight, and for the first time  ever, there were kittens! Who are nearly impossible to photograph because they never stopped moving!  But, they were a big hit with all the guests, and helped us raise a bunch of funds.

OK, so it’s upside down, but it’s still a Y.  Right?  Y was hard to find, OK?  That’s why it took me so long to get to it.

Yes, they’re very cute.  They also destroyed half our plants over the winter, and are already going after the new ones.

The Green bathroom is very nearly ready.  We need to get some privacy film on the window to replace the very classy newspaper we’ve been using.  And we need to stock the medicine cabinet.  But aside from that, it’s perfectly functional for regular use.

Years ago, a colleague spotted me eating my lunch, reading a book and holding the book open with a tape dispenser.  And she got me a book weight, easily one of the best gifts I’ve ever received.

I was invited to a games night/potluck, and Doug’s out of town, so I thought, why not? It was entertaining, though there were a LOT of people, so we had to play games that could work with so many folks.  We played a round of “Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza” and a few rounds of “The Great Dalmoudi.”   Good fun.

Bob and Kat had a BBQ this evening.  I went inside to use the bathroom, and when I came out, there was a Mouse!  While not as rare a sighting as it once was, the Mouse can be hard to spot.
