Back in July, I got a birthday card with a five dollar bill inside from a Canadian friend. (My birthday is in April.) When I asked him about it, he apologized for being so late, but thought I’d enjoy the chance to “Spock” a bill, and he’d been waiting for one to come around so he could send it to me. I figure it’s only fair that I’ve since waited 6 months to get around to doing it.

I’ve had this sweatshirt for at least 10 years–way before the little yellow hydrant-shaped characters came along, and now when people see it, they say “oh! minions!! I love them!” . I want to add some text to it: “Do you even really know what the word “minions” means??!?”
..sigh…

The big boss went on a field trip today to check out the Pixar exhibit at the science museum, before it’s gone, and she took a couple of us with her.

The bananas we get from Boston Organics are usually just barely ripe; after a day, they’re perfect for me. Doug likes them more ripe than that. But last week’s bananas were still very green–here they are 5 days later, as compared to some still left from a couple weeks back.

Even Mr Green Dinosaur loves Doug’s waffles!

Pipe cleaner decorations, such as it is.

On December 31, we have a “happy Noon year” party for visitors (kids) who won’t be up at midnight. We drop a giant sparkly ball and sing Auld Lang Syne and it’s very cute. At 3:45 today, my colleague learned that the ball was broken. Suddenly, the whole area around his desk was flooded with people from the Education and Exhibits teams, and by 4:45, a new ball was complete. Go, team!

Having Nancy in town is a wonderful excuse to get together for dinner. Much better than going out, we decided. More time to nibble at dessert, sip wine, and enjoy each other’s company.

When life hands you 70 degrees on Christmas, make a snowman out of burlap bags!
