A few weeks ago, Doug said “I think I saw a hairy woodpecker*” and I had doubts because they’re just not that common. The other night, it was back, and I recorded its sounds and yep, Doug was right! And now it’s a regular visitor. (And yes, I took it through a window screen because I didn’t want to move around and scare it away.)
(*This is a type of woodpecker, not a statement on its appearance. Similar to a downy woodpecker, but bigger.)
