I needed to buy chocolate today for cherry dipping and was intrigued by this bar made from the ruby cacao seed, which is naturally pink.  It’s definitely got a bit of a berry flavor to it, and I hope it enhances the cherries.

The kitties know they’re not supposed to be on the counter, so they’re smart enough to only do it when we’re not around.  But they are not smart enough to know that they leave footprints….

Otis is a screech owl who lives at the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center in Mystic CT.  Like  nearly all the birds who live there, he can’t be released into the wild, though I don’t remember his specific reason.  That said, one of the staff told us about the sharp-shinned hawk in the enclosure next door, who will be released later this week.  Good news!

When we arrived at the inn on Saturday, the innkeeper wrote down the WiFi password for us.  Just as she had done for many other people before….

We bought this hydrangea two years ago.  It didn’t really bloom last year, and while so far this year it’s only got two blooms, they are stunning.

A concert at Harborlights (or whatever the hell it’s called these days) was the perfect excuse to have dinner at the No Name.  I can’t remember the last time I was here…I think I was about 12.

Weird Al!

At work today, we did a very simple craft project, expecting it to be too busy for something complex.  Kids made a pendant out of a wood sample tile, hung it on a piece of yarn, then added it to our “chandelier” or wore it as a necklace.  I really like how this picture came out.

The new mannequins may be more effective, but they don’t have the charm of Resuscitation Annie.

Look at the packaging on this thing, and try to tell a kid it’s not a toy.  And PS…it totally is.
