This morning I rode in a Red Line car advertising the new Alien movie.

I had lunch outside today, breaking in my new grill toy: a set of cast iron grates including a griddle quadrant and (not shown) grill pan quadrant.

We walked to the Watertown Dam today. This dam on the Charles River was first constructed in 1632 — used over the years to power mills — and last had work done to it in the 1970s. Now it’s strictly ornamental and interferes with the migration of fish upstream, so the state is considering taking it down.

Tonight I cooked an asterisk for dinner.

This may possibly be the last time I park my car in this garage at my office in Quincy. Come Monday I am back on the train, and in 2 months my office is moving to downtown Boston.

I spent my REI dividend on a new ski helmet and goggles. You know it’s a fancy helmet when it comes with a storage bag. But you all will have to wait for next winter to actually see it.

I found out where our hotel keeps the ducks.

Kat gets her gloves in order before dropping into Alpine Bowl at Alpine Meadows. This blue-rated bowl seemed positively tame after some of the terrain we skied on Sunday.

 

We skied Alpine Meadows today and were blessed with an unexpected warm bluebird day. Here’s Bob traversing to select his entry point into South Face bowl.
