The electricians ran more speaker wire for us, three speakers total in this round.  They used 2 different colors, and marked the third with a bit of black tape on each end, so we can tell them apart.

I took advantage of the somewhat cooler weather today, and of our now fully functional stove, to prepare 2 batches of stock — vegetable and chicken.

Fortunately, on the outside of the front door screen.

Ball finials, that is. These match the similar pieces on the front porch.

What better way to celebrate our nation and its accomplishments than with good old American bourbon?  And what better way to consume bourbon on a sultry day than in a mint julep?
