Restart

I hereby declare that my experiment in non-daily photo blogging is a failure: I’m not taking as many pictures as I should, I’m not taking pictures of things I should be taking them of, and I’m clearly not posting those few pictures I do take.

So, on summer solstice, this longest day of the year and the official start of summer, I am restarting my Project 365: a picture a day for an entire year.

Today’s picture is Lis and her niece Leah sitting down to a homemade pizza dinner.  We tried to grill it, but the grill had run out of propane.

Repair

We’re having the bathroom bump-out off the back of our house shored up to repair some rot damage and bring the structure up to snuff.

This is not an exciting project, but beats having the bathroom fall off the back of the house!

Ancestral coal

My mother’s grandfather owned a coal company in Newton and Needham.  The town of Needham has restored the sign on the side of the historical office of that company, uncovered when the building next door was demolished.  I visited this site with my parents today.

Tongue

One of the delicacies of Jewish cuisine is beef tongue.  We were lucky enough to buy a beef tongue from our meat CSA this month, and Lis was very excited to eat it.  To me, it tastes like rich brisket.
