I finally figured out what I was doing wrong with hardwood (chunk) charcoal: the brand.  This Royal Oak is much better than what I had been using.

Claire and Jeff helped us paint the loft today. What a difference a little color makes.

Lis and I went to see Movie Night at the Pops, with John WIlliams conducting.

If you don’t like spiders, don’t look; and certainly don’t click through to see the full-size image.  These spiders are just hatched; the groove in the railing behind them is about 1/4″ wide.

I don’t know why a sheet of drywall needs guarding, though.
