I do hear a lot of sirens from my new office. But they don’t usually stop right down the block, nor do they usually extend their ladders to nearby buildings. There was no smoke and they left quickly, so not sure what was going on.

We never spent much time in the back yard of the house on the Vineyard, but it’s really quite nice. These morning glories greeted me as I went to retrieve my bike today.

The house we’ve rented for years for our Martha’s Vineyard vacation has been sold, and its availability for next year is up in the air. So we’ve selected a different house for next year, and are saying good-bye to this specific porch for probably the last time.

“There’s a sausage to please most every taste.” Or so says the (1950’s?) cookbook page we found on the sidewalk on our walk around the neighborhood this evening.
(My critique of the picture on the page: unless your fire is almost out, putting any sausage that close to the coals would cause it to burst into flames almost immediately.)

…my favorite T-shirt notwithstanding. But you must be one a very select group of people. This is my father-in-law’s laptop; I am upgrading it from Snow Leopard to El Capitan so he can continue to run Firefox and Thunderbird, the only two programs he really understands.
