Only in Boston

Debate about statistics via graffiti, seen on the commuter rail.

(the handwritten text reads: “=3/100 or 30/1000 or 0.03% — very small numbers”, to which someone added (on a sticker, no less): “No. It’s a small percentage. .03% of a large population is a *big* number.” )

I don’t care

Summer soup

This soup has three ingredients: fresh corn, bacon, and a small amount of butter. Served cool, it’s perfect for a warm evening.

Smokin’

Composted

I lost this trowel this past spring: after using it to harvest finished compost from our bin, I could not find it. Yesterday I emptied and moved the bin, and the trowel reappeared, having been buried in the bin this whole time. I am amazed at how much damage it suffered in just 3-4 months.
